REIKI IN MONMOUTH COUNTY NJ $90
If you were to say that Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction. That "Rei" means universal and "Ki" is life energy.
That Reiki is not a religion but it is energy guided by the Higher Power. You would be correct. For me, Reiki is not that cut and dry. Rather Reiki is a profound healing energy that can be guided to assist in healing serious injuries and illnesses.
When you awake in the morning you open your eyes and can say, "Yes I know I am alive". There is an internal energy that allows us to utter those words. The air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat enters our bodies and feeds that energy.
Love is another important ingredient that feeds that energy. Some call that energy Chi, a Chinese word, and say that this Chi travels through routes called Meridians delivering energy to major organs of the body, and accumulates in vortexes called Chakras.
In the 1940' a Russian researcher named Semyon Kirlian developed a technique for photographing the etheric energy patterns around living things. Because of his research, tools (machines) are being developed that will identify and capture subtle energy systems which will allow us to cure disease-related imbalances in major bodily organs.
When the life energy is blocked due to a dis-ease within the body, we get sick. People know when their energy is low. We can sense when our bodies are not functioning normally. Reiki knows where to go. It raises the vibratory level in and around the physical body. It clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways.
Reiki can never cause harm to the client or the practitioner because it is guided by the God-Consciousness. The practitioner is not doing the healing and her energies are never depleted.
The Reiki Master will attune the student which makes adjustments in her chakras and energy pathways to accommodate the ability to channel Reiki and then links the student to the Reiki source. Once the attunement is received the practitioner will have Reiki for the remainder of her life.
Reiki works in harmony with all other kinds of treatments. Reiki is gaining acceptance in hospitals as a cost-effective way to improve patient care.
How is a Reiki treatment given?
In a standard treatment Reiki energy flows from the practitioners hands into
the client. The client is usually laying on a massage table but treatments can
also be given while the client is seated or even standing. The client remains
fully clothed. The practitioner places her/his hands on or near the clients
body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head
and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be
used based on the clients needs. Each position is held for three to ten
minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position.
The whole treatment usually lasts 50 minutes.
Are there any side effects from a Reiki treatment?
Most of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment.
However, sometimes a person will have what is called a healing crisis. As a
person’s vibration goes up, toxins that have been stored in the body will be
released into the blood stream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and
removed from the system. When this happens, sometimes a person can get a
headache or stomach ache or feel weak. If this happens, it is a good idea to
drink more water, eat lighter meals and get more rest. The body is cleansing
as part of the healing process so this is a good sign.
